Haute Couture Week is just around the corner, but the runway isn’t exactly a source of excitement. As far as dress codes go, this year’s front row stars pulled out all the stops – including Shalom Brune-Franklin.
The Australian actress, who made a splash in last year’s suspense thriller “The Tourist” and was one of Harper’s Bazaar’s February cover stars, watched the unveiling of Virginie Viard’s animal-inspired collection at the Chanel Haute Couture show on Tuesday.
We caught up with the actress before she headed to the show, where she chatted about her front row attire, her most memorable fashion moments and why it’s important what we wear.
Tell us what you thought of today’s show
“I can’t complain, I was in Paris, so it was a really amazing day. The fittings were great and I tried on a lot of different, colorful clothes. Everything was about color – because everything I’ve worn before has always been black and we wanted to try on some color, so why not dress me up like ice cream? When I put it on the platform, we fell in love with it and thought it was really relaxed and cool. It’s so bright and cheerful, so we tried to bring a little bit of summer to a cold January day.”
What makes CHANEL such a good fit for your style?
“In terms of my personal style, I’m trying to be more colorful. I’m one of those people who wears a black uniform all the time, and I think a lot of people do too; it’s so simple and always looks good. But I’m trying to be a little more daring now. That’s what makes Chanel a great fit for me, because the brand has a really relaxed feel to it. Everything about the whole relationship feels natural, and that’s what resonates with me.”
