Breast Cancer Campaign
The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign unites and inspires people around the world to fulfill the Campaign’s mission to help create a world free of breast cancer for all. Founded in 1992 by the late Evelyn H. Lauder and featuring the iconic Pink Ribbon, the Breast Cancer Campaign is Estée Lauder’s largest corporate social impact program. Together, the Breast Cancer Campaign and The Estée Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation have funded more than $118 million in life-saving global research, education and medical care – more than $93 million of which has been directed to medical research through the Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF). BCRF is committed to advancing the world’s most promising research for the eradication of breast cancer.
In honor of its 30th anniversary, Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign features the voices of ELC employees, campaign ambassadors and global partners to highlight the diversity of breast cancer and unite our hope.
30 Year Commitment. Unite to help end breast cancer.Thirty years ago, people were dying of breast cancer around the world, and knowledge around the disease was limited – there were no Pink Ribbons, research was underfunded and the complexities behind the disease were not understood. in 1992, Evelyn H. Lauder co-founded the Pink Ribbon and launched Estée Lauder’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, inspiring a global movement around its mission to help create a world free of breast cancer for all.Today, the Breast Cancer Campaign supports global research, education and medical care in many ways, including
Funding global medical research and fellowships
Identifying and addressing disparities that exist across the breast cancer field
Advancing the conversation about the importance of breast health education and early detection by facilitating discussions among the breast cancer community, medical experts and key opinion leaders, and by producing informational materials
Support the establishment and renewal of various care centers to treat and support breast cancer patients
Fund medical resources and services, including mammograms and screenings for vulnerable populations with limited access to health care
Making a positive impact on the lives of breast cancer patients and their families by helping to provide support, treatment and counseling programs
While we have made great strides in the fight against this disease, our work is not yet done. The call to help end breast cancer is urgent: it remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world.1 This just reaffirms why the mission of the breast cancer movement remains steadfast, uniting people who want to help end breast cancer, a life-threatening disease for all. Now it’s #TimeToEndBreastCancer.
